Pumpkin update

This morning we noticed a leaf is starting to grow. It looks very delicate. It's strange that yesterday it was very small, about the size of a bead. Today it looks like a leaf is growing.

This afternoon we noticed that the leaf is now out of the dirt. We think tomorrow it may grow even

Then we noticed our little pumpkin has a tiny sprout starting to grow. It's very small and you can hardly see it. Maybe tomorrow it will grow some more.

Our pumpkins

In October we brought in pumpkins. We used them for activities in Math, French and English. We also baked muffins with some of them. We tried saving some of them all year to try an experiment. Check out the photos below to see what we're doing.

February events and activities

Tuesday February 2nd is early dismissal

A reminder there is no school this Friday February 5th.

Festival du Voyageur is almost here and we will have a number of wonderful events and activities going on around the school (feb. 8-12). Many of the staff and students will be organizing and running these activities, but we still need some help.

Monday February 8th
Tibert the Voyageur assembly from 11-11:55am

Tuesday February 9th
Pancake breakfast

Due to the cost of pancakes from previous years, it was suggested that the pancakes not be ordered but instead made by parent volunteers. In order to ensure that each student receives a plate, we will be needing extra volunteers to come in between 7:30am and 8:00am to begin preparing and cooking the mix. We may need a few extra "griddles" as well to allow for cooking multiple pancakes so if you have one and would like to lend it to use, that would be fantastic! Just be sure to put your name on it so that it finds its way home after!

If this is something that you would like to take part in, we welcome the much needed help. Please email me if you are able to come join in the fun of prepping delicious pancakes for 342 grateful students.

Wednesday February 10th
Course de canot

Thursday February 11th
M à 2 – La commerce de fourrure (salle d’art)
Students will have the chance to participate in a « fur trade ».
Please see the note that went home in your child's agenda last week.

Please be sure to have a valentine for each classmate. Party committee notes will come home Friday as well once we have met and planned.

Home writing

Please make an effort to write something every day. I will be responding to each child's writing and/or adding a tsk for them to complete. Please leave the back of each page free, as we may glue tasks in on that side. Also, please continue writing on the same page as the previous day if space permits. Recording the date will help divide the work.
Thank you so much for your support in developing enthusiastic writers!
